1986- FreeNet Created.
1987- Internet hosts exceed 10,000.
1988- Internet Worm Released. The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) is formed as a result.
1989- Internet host exceeds 100,000.
1990- ARPANET decommissioned and named Internet. Host exceed 300,000.
1991- Traffic on the NSF backbone network exceeds 1 trillion bytes per month.
1992- First audio and video sent across Internet.
1993- The first graphics based Web browser, Mosaic, is created.
1994- First Pizza ordered over the Net.
1995- Java invented by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems.
1996- Nearly 10 million host online. Internet covers the globe.
Present Day- Today people use the Internet as freely as one would drive a car. It can be used in all aspects of life. From Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, to young children and their grand parents.
