John was born in 1772 and died in 1842. He married first Betsy (?) and second, Elizabeth Hart. John came to Texas before the Texas Revolution and staked a claim along the Brazos River as part of the Robertson Colony.

Seeking further information on the GOODRUM clan who migrated to Grimes/Waller County in 1851 from DeSoto County, MS. Thomas GOODRUM, born ca. 1786 in Fairfield, South Carolina, died after the 1860 census in Grimes County, and was father to the following children: John Jefferson, Thomas P. (my gggrandfather), Eliza, Francis Marion, Rueben, Seaburn (aka Ceburn) and Mary Jane. The eldest son, John, settled in Milam county while all of the others settled in the portion of Grimes County that later became Waller County. Thomas, Thomas P. and Rueben Goodrum, as well as my other gggrandfather, James Davis, who came to Waller County in 1871, are all buried in the Hibbit cemetery. Their graves are unmarked.

. J B McCown was a captain in the Texas Rangers, the Mexican War and during the Civil War. He called Hempstead his home. He was one of the commissioners who set up the county of Waller in 1873. He died in 1876 probably in or near Hempstead. I would appreciate anything anyone knows about him, particularly where he is buried.

MILAM Searching for information on William who moved to Waller County, TX about 1870. Married Samantha BROOKS circa 1851 in Alabama. They lived in the Fields Store area(Waller, County) until the early 1900's.
