Performed installation and maintenance of Sybase SQL Servers (Versions 11.X and 10.X) on AIX, Sequent, DG-UX, and Solaris. Maintenance activities include: the creation of databases, views, and indexing; performance tuning, security auditing; and space management.

 

Served as an internal design consultant to I.S. development staff. Duties included: review of logical and physical designs for new systems and enhancements. Assisted developers to ensure all new designs adhered to company standards and guidelines.

 

Provided assessments of new systems and enhancements and their potential impact to the enterprise model.

 

Designed and implemented a thin-client / server knowledge base system to assist with the management and auditing of development database activities. The first phase included the design and implementation of several databases using ERWin/ERX. The second phase required the creation of a GUI using HTML and CGI scripting to allow interfacing with the back-end Sybase SQL Server.

 

Participated in the development of internal guidelines and procedures for migrating mid-range development systems to production. Converted documentation into HTML and included within the company’s Intranet homepage.

 

Performed the duties of Webmaster for Database Computing Services Intranet homepage.
