Part 1: The beginning...
It all started June 6, 1972 at the Hennepin County Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I started out small but you gotta start somewhere. During this period, my parents and I went between a rented home in the Twin Cities and our farmhouse in west central Wisconsin. I had a lot of fun there playing in the dirt and helping raise chickens and rabbits and cats... We had 32 cats at one time, and I knew all their names. I spent a week each summer at 4H camp, fighting off the mosquitoes. Then, in January of 1986, we were relocated by 3M to Austin, Texas. Thus, I froze my booty off in Minnesota and Wisconsin for the first 13 1/2 years of my life before I was saved.
Part 2: The best in the west...
Then, there was Texas. I acquired a southern drawl and my blood turned orange! I went to Westwood High School, home of the Warriors, whose colors were orange and white. After graduating in 1990, I attended The University of Texas at Austin (the school's colors are, orange and white...), where I majored in Accounting. While going to school, I paid most of my way thru college by working at Motorola. I worked the graveyard shift until I just couldn't take it anymore. I was pledging Alpha Kappa Psi at the time and having great fun. So, from South Padre Island, I called in and quit. My life picked up then (got to practice drinking beer and country dancing) and I finished college in 4 years flat in May of 1994. Yay me. Now, I've graduated college with less than a stellar G.P.A. and no prospects for high-paying employment. So, what would you do? Well, what I did was hop a plane to San Francisco and scoped out what the City by the Bay held for me...
Part 3: The most beautiful place on earth...
So, what did I find in SF? Lots! I found a gorgeous and interesting city with lots of new friends. I got my first real paying job after college as a contractor for Sony Electronics in San Jose where I worked for 2 years. I paid some bills, passed the CPA exam and got to the point where I could leave and finally get my dream job. Now, I work with a Certified Public Accountant in Menlo Park and hopefully in 2 years I'll be Christina Tupper, CPA. (Provided I live through tax season..)
So, that's the story as it is right now. Who knows what the future will bring but for now, it's looking good.
