Fundraisers
The Fourche Valley Future Business Leaders of America have came a long way this year. For fundraisers to attend the Arkansas FBLA/PBL State Conference, we had a car wash and asked local business for donations. We are still working on the money we lack, but I am sure we can do it!!
We also hosted a penny drive for the Arkansas Children's Hospital. We palced cans in every elementary classroom for students to place money. At the end of the week, whichever class raised the most money was going to get a pizza party. In all, we raised approx. $80 and the sixth grade class raised the most money (approx. $50). Way to go everyone and thank you for helping a worthy cause!!!
District VII Convention
A few weeks ago, we attend the District VII Leadership Conference in Hot Springs. Our members participated in the following events:
Cheyenne and Dewayne Lambert |
Desktop Publishing |
Fifth Place |
Lela Retzloff |
Word Processing |
First Place |
Cynthia Rice |
Keyboarding Applications |
Third Place |
Rebecca Prince |
Intro. to Impromptu Speaking |
Eighth Place |
Hope Robinette |
Business Math |
Ninth Place |
Lela and Cynthia will be
competing in the state conference. In every competition, the top
five in the district compete on the state level, except for
Desktop Publishing (which we think is very unfair). So, we would
have four students competing in the state leadership conference
if it was not for that one rule. This is the first time Fourche
Valley has had a student going to the state conference. Everyone
should be very proud of Lela and Cynthia, not to mention Dewayne
and Cheyenne!
