Parizeau comes to aid of Bloc Ex-premier will talk of party's role DAVID GAMBLE
The former premier has agreed to speak at two party fundraisers
as well as conduct research redefining sovereignty as the Bloc
tries to rejuvenate itself in preparation for a major policy
convention in 2000.

Unfair funding If anyone is wondering why talented and creative people
often feel unwelcome in Quebec, they have only to look at
the Parti Quebecois government's cultural policy. Last
week, Culture Minister Louise Beaudoin and Deputy
Premier Bernard Landry announced a doubling to $20
million of funding to support Quebec film-makers. Not one
cent of this new money will be allocated to
