As an active member of the
transgender community, Kristine is acutely aware of the
ongoing discrimination and other difficulties faced each and every day by both those who change their sexual identity and for other minorities in general. More often than not, those
difficulties involve complex legal issues. Her personal
background includes a history of employment
discrimination and common family difficulties. It is her
desire to provide affordable legal services to the
community in an honest, forthright and understanding
manner. Prior to opening her own
office, Ms. Holt served as a judicial clerk for the
Pennsylvania Superior Court, an intermediate appellate
court. Her experience litigating civil rights issues is
extensive; she has argued in both the Federal and
Pennsylvania state courts and administrative agencies. On
one front, she successfully established the right of
discharged transgendered employees to collect
unemployment compensation benefits. She has also
successfully pursued discrimination cases in federal
court under Title VII. In addition to her regular
lectures on legal issues at conventions, universities and
local bar associations, her publications have been cited
by other authors for their authoritative content.
Ms. Holt is licensed
in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Her main
office is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
