
Further to the coastal flowers issued on April 8, Australia Post issued five more coastal definitive stamps on July 8. As part of the third issue in the Nature of Australia definitive series, the new stamps are based around the marine life and coastal habitat of Fraser Island, located on the north eastern coast of Australia.
The 70c stamp features Humpback Whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) and a Zebra Volute (Zebramoria zebra) shell.
Two se-tenant 90c feature Fraser Island coastal habitat with a Brahminy
Kites (Haliastur indus), a
Checkerboard Helmet Shell (Phalium areola) and a Chambered Nautilus
(Nautilus pompilius).
The $1.05 stamp depicts Loggerhead Turtle (Caretta caretta) and a Baler (Melo amphora), also known as a Melon Shell
And the $1.20 stamp features White-bellied Sea-Eagle (Haliaeetus leucogaster)
and a Campbell`s Stromb (Strombus vittatus campbelli).
