1999.10.18 Hong Kong New Definitive Sets


On October 18, 1999, Hongkong Post issued a new set of definitive stamps to replace the transition definitive issue effected on 1 July 1997, in the event of the transfer of Hongkong to China. The new ones is the first set of definitive stamps bearing the identifier "HONG KONG, CHINA" to be issued by Hongkong Post since the establishmentof the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China on 1 July, 1997.
The set, comprising 16 denominations depicts some of Hong Kong's distinctive
landmarks and tourist attractions. They are:

The stamps are printed in pane of 100 for low values and in pane of 50 for high values. Three types of booklets with the new definitive stamps in the value of ten $1.3, $2.5 and $3.1 stamps, Reel Stamp for $1.3, $1.6, $2.5 and $3.1, and two Souvenir Sheet bearing the 13 low values and 3 high values respectively were also released the same day.
