2000.06.20    Australia International Rate Definitive Series

From July 1, Australia will adopt a new tax legislation, which stipulates that GST will be levied for domestic mail, while the overseas mail free of GST. In view of this, Australia Post issued on June 20 a series of new international rate definitive stamps to meet the new need. The series showcases Australia's breathtaking panoramic views, consisting eight stamps ranges from 50c to 10 dallors:
        50c        Sydney Opera House
        $1.00     Nandroya Falls
        $1.50     Sydney Harbour Bridge
        $2.00     Cradle Mountain
        $3.00     Pinnacles
        $4.50     Flinders Ranges
        $5.00     Twelve Apostles
        $10.00   Devils Marbles

All the stamps are in distinctive size and shape, carrying the "International Post" branding, so distinguish themselves from others sold for domestic mail. This is the first stamps in Australia designed and developed exclusively for use on international mail.
