
In order to meet demand, Taiwan Post issued a surcharge definitive on Aug. 24. The original stamp bears a bamboo design, which was originally part of a former definitive set: "Pine, Bamboo and Plum Issue." and with a face value of NT$7.50. This value is now covered over with an encircling dragon symbol that symbolizes good luck and a new denomination of NT$3.50 has been reprinted on the stamp.
