2001.09.20    USA New Washington, Eagle and Re-issue Bison
USPS revealed new values for Washinton and Eagle, along with re-issue in three format for Bison on Sep. 20 to catch up with the new rate increase on July 1.

The 23c Washinton, features the sign design of 20c Washington in red issued early this year, bears the color of green.  The 23c postage satisfies the additional-ounce rate for a first-class, domestic letter that went into effect July 1. The 57c Eagle in green, also bearing the same design as 55c Eagle in yellow revealed early this year, meets the 2-ounce rate for a first-class, domestic letter. The new Washington is available in self-adhesive panes of 20 and coils of 100, while the Eagle is available only in self-adhesive panes of 20.

The postcard rate is increased from 20c to 21c in the new postage system, so the 21c Bison stamp issued also early this year is still in great demand, that why USPS re-issued the sign design in more three formats: water-activated panes of 100, self-adhesive pane of 10 and vending booklet pane of 10. It is seems there isn't any difference in specification of the latter two formats as indicated by USPS, so there maybe only two collectable variaties.
