On Feb. 1, China Post revealed two new definitive series, namely R30
"Protecting the Homeland of Human Being" and R31 "Chinese Bird". The colorful
series "Chinese Bird" aims at presenting the abundant of Chinese bird and
raising the awareness of protecting birds. The whole series is proposed
to have ten values, and to be revealed in several issues within one or
two year. The first issue of this series consists three values: 80 fen
Tragopan caboti, 1 yuan Podoces biddulphi and 2 yuan Urocissa
Caerulea Gould. In printing the stamps, four new tech. method are employed
as anti-fraud means: fluorescent fiber in paper, fluorescent encrypted
ink, micro-printing and colorless fluorescent coding, making these stamps
among the most high-tech.stamps ever printed by China.
