American Kestrel

The 1c American Kestrel stamp was first issued in June 22, 1991. Then re-issued in May 11, 1995 with the denomination mark changing from "01" to "1c" and in January 20, 1996 with the format of coil. The design almost remains the same.

The Kestrel, a member of the falcon family, is the smallest falcon found in North America and, with one exception, the world. The American Kestrel is widely distributed throughout the Americas. Their breeding grounds range from Alaska to South America and an estimated 1.2 million breeding pairs make up the North American population alone.
