PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Emjay Chemical Corporation, 1984-present
President
Managed day to day operations. Supervised Sales Department. Organized
sales division by areas. Increased sales by creating incentive program
for salesmen. In-Charge of product promotion and product development.
One of my first task was to redesign product labels to make it more
marketable and priced it to make it more competitive. Re-organized the
delivery department for effective distribution of goods. Created a
"minimum inventory level" for both raw materials and finished goods as a
means of monitoring the stock levels. As President, I participated in the
Collective Bargaining Agreement between the company and its union.
Promoted industrial peace by creating different sporting activities and
organizing company outings and parties.
Wave Aquatic Trade, 1991-1996
Partner
Managed the Manila Operations. Took care of distribution of Live Lobsters
to various exporters. Bargained with the different exporters in order to
get the best price for products. Personally delivered products and
collected the amount due as soon as the lobsters were properly weighed and
classified. Monitored daily sales and disbursed funds to Palawan
operations. Took note of the shipments of our competitors by monitoring
their activities at the domestic airport. We effectively dominated the
live lobster industry in Palawan from 1991 to 1994, due to the fact that
our mortality rate in shipping them live was less than 10%. (Industry
average was 45%). Success was also due to the fact that our employees got
an incentive commission for every kilo of live lobsters that reach
Manila. Wave was averaging 1 ton of live lobsters a month which peaked to
3 to 4 tons, depending on the weather. It was my task to supply the
Palawan operations of materials that are only available in Manila; e.g.
Ice Boxes, plastic bags, refractometer, etc.
