| Citrus swallowtail (papilio democus esper) -
This butterfly is widely spread throughout southern Africa. It has been
recorded in most habitats from montane forests to the edges of the Namib
desert, and is a familiar sight in most gardens. The females lay their
eggs on citrus trees, hence the name. |
