Identified areas for improvement in the Procurement procedures and am
currently setting up procedures to implement the same. Also, drawing up
an implementation plan for Supply Management and Supplier evaluation. The
job provided me with an in-depth understanding of the Procurement
functions in an industry with frequent demand fluctuations. Looking into

Summer Intern
Identified areas for improvement of the Procurement process for
non-strategic materials and streamlining of the related accounting
processes. Drafted an implementation plan for introduction of Purchasing
Cards in the Procurement process. The plan has been adopted by the
company and is currently in the pilot stage. The introduction of
Purchasing Cards would result in annual cost savings of 1.5 million $ per
annum. The internship provided an understanding of the operations in the
petroleum industry and the strategic importance of logistics management.
Also, prepared the manual for Supply Chain Management and the initial
feasibility for the same.
