FOREIGN INVESTMENT IN EUROPE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For a non-European investor Europe must look very complicated. Not only is this continent swamped with different languages, cultures and -sometimes small- countries. Within the countries more and more powerful regions are emerging. Most of these regions have their own legislative and administrative authorities, and are therefore more and more decisive factors in Europe. The European Union itself has formally recognized this trend by founding the Committee of the Regions within its constitution. The power of the European regions are not merely a political fantasy ; they are the embodiment of the truly different cultural, social, economic and other aspects of these regions. The Foreign Investment Research Center has adopted a policy of informing the non-European investor about these differences and its effects on investments. The creation of this site is one the results. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
