You can barely see the padded bike rack
bars built onto the front bumper. I still haven't quite figured out how to finish
this off. I padded it in case someone runs into the bars sticking out in a parking
lot parked somewhere. It's actually kind of dusty here, yet you can see the
cement edging around the pavement pretty clearly defined. I take great pains to keep
the paint in great shape. I think the best way to keep it this way is to wash it with only clear water, maybe with a capful of soap. Then Use McGuire's polish on it. And use McGuire's wax to finish it off. Between waxings, I wash with clear water, Chamois dry it, and then use "The Slick Stuff" as "cheater wax" to finish it off. I have used McGuire's Clear Coat protectant recently and I find that while it's not as easy to wipe off as "The Slick Stuff", it does tend to be more like a wax and actually seems to keep dust off longer. The Slick Stuff wipe offs like windex and the Clearcoat Protectant is easily three times harder to wipe off (not like either is hard to wipe off, you just need to buff more with the Clearcoat Protectant.) I really believe in the Chamois dry. That's what helps it to look like this without waxing. This is a 9 year old vehicle that hasn't been waxed in over three months and it looks pretty good after an ordinary wash if you ask me. |
