Yosemite Valley Shots
This shot is Inspiration Point looking Southeast toward the
Yosemite Wilderness. You can see Half Dome way off in the distance. |
This is on the way toward Glacier point (one of the highest vista
points) and is one of the vista stops along the way. |
This is a shot of the lower Yosemite Falls. The water isn't
rushing that much but it is nice and cool. It was 100 degrees F here. |
You can't really see it from here, but there are 5 people on the
very top of Half Dome there. There is a ladder that people can climb to the top on.
It's quite a journey as you can see. |
I was too chicken to stand out on that point. I don't really think
it would have fallen, but I was more worried about getting kicked out. Should have
done that last. Would have made a great shot. Apparently,
you can hang -glide from up here on Saturday mornings. |
This is a shot down the valley. It's pretty dark with the
clouds overhead here. Nevada/Vernal falls are just light (in the center) and half
dome is on the left. |
This is bridal veil falls shot from a bit of a distance. |
No, this isn't the same falls. It the upper and lower
Nevada
falls. |
This chapel is in the valley and during the 1997 floods had water
up about half way up the windows. No, higher than that. It's an active
Catholic church and was having a wedding while we were there. |
This was the closest that we came to see a
wild bear while we were
there! Well, other than a littler girl in the next camp yelling,
"Mom, there's a bear over here. Mom, there's a bear over
here!"
|
This is the Bridal Veil falls with the Merced River in the
foreground. |
This is the Yosemite Falls also with the Merced in the Foreground.
|
The some pretty darn big Sequoia trees in Mariposa Grove.
This is not a miniature log cabin but is actually pretty large! |
The Indians sure had one hell of a place when they had it to
themselves. This is the Ahwahnee Hotel. Beautiful isn't it?
Great place to take a date! |
