IN MEMORY OF PRINCESS DIANA
Golob miru

Time is too slow for those who wait,
two swift for those who fear,
too long for those who grieve,
too short for those who rejoice,
but for those who love, time is eternety.
            (A poem read in Westminster Abbey by Diana's sister Lady Jane Fellowes)

If I should die and leave you here awhile,
Be not like others, sore undone, who keep
Long vigils by the silent dust and weep.
For my sake - turn again to life and smile,
Nerving thy heart and trembling hand to do
Something to comfort other hearts than thine.
Complete those dear unfinished tasks of mine
And I, perchance, may therein comfort you.

(A poem read in Westminster Abbey by Diana's sister Lady Sarah McCorquodale)

Diana
We will all fell cheated always
that you were taken from us young,
and yet we must learn to be grateful
that you came along at all.

(Earl Spencer, Diana's brother)

The unique, the complex,
the extraordinary and irreplaceable Diana,
whose beauty, both internal and external,
will never be extinguished from our minds.

Candle in the wind '97

Goodbye England's Rose
May you ever grow in our hearts.
You were the grace that placed itself
Where lives were torn apart.
You called out to our country,
And you whispered to those in pain.
Now you belong to heaven,
And the stars spell out your name.

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind:
Never fading with the sunset
When the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here,
Along England's greenest hills;
Your candle's burned out long before
Your legend ever will.

Loveliness we've lost;
These empty days without your smile.
This torch we'll always carry
 For our nation's golden child.
And even though we try,
The truth brings us to tears;
All our words cannot express
The joy you brought us through the years.

Goodbye England's Rose,
From a country lost without your soul,
Who'll miss the wings of your compassion
More than you'll ever know.
