The
1998 EFTC-GEMACO Handicap tourney was sponsored by GEMACO, Abu Dhabi. The tourney was a
success and members had a great time, especially during the awards night which was held at
Novotel Hotel, Abu Dhabi, UAE. |
The
tournament was the first in Abu Dhabi. It was just a simple experiment of the club and
became a success. The participants really enjoyed the games and requested to continue
doing this type of tournament. The Club decided to include it in tournament program. |

Since the foundation of EFTC in 1993, the club immediately became so popular and expands. The club name reached Ruwais and affiliated the tennis club of Filipino residents of Ruwais. The Friendship Meet (Ruwais Meet) is the brainchild of previous club chairman Ricky dela Cruz. And now the meet became an annual event. |

Tennis is LIFE. That is true among Filipinos living here in Middle East. UAE is composed of 7 emirates and each emirates are having Filipino Tennis Club. Every year these club meet together for One Day Fun Tennis which is always held at Dubai. |
