Founder's Vision:- 

To promote the sport of tennis and provide a wholesome and healthy
recreation to our fellow “kababayans”. This was the vision that the founding
members had in mind when they formed the Emirates Filipino Tennis Club (or
EFTC) back in 1993.

Five “kumpadres”, keen on learning and promoting the sport of tennis
envisioned a club that will not only fill their leisure time fruitfully,
but, will also help others learn and enjoy the sport. The club had 15
members, all close friends, and had no permanent court to play on; relying
mostly on temporary memberships to other tennis courts of hotels and resorts
in the Abu Dhabi Emirate.

That was then….

Today, the EFTC has thrived to be one of the most successful “All Filipino”
tennis club in the Abu Dhabi Emirate, with a membership of over 240 tennis
enthusiasts (from Abu Dhabi,Sharjah and Ruwais). EFTC’s permanent venue for
its activities is the Abu Dhabi Marina and Yacht Club.

EFTC and the sunny climate of the United Arab Emirates has since provided
all year round tennis to EFTC members and guests. The following tournaments
are held annually:

Beginner’s Cup - Intended new (novice) members
All Doubles Tournament - Open to both members and non-member (Filipinos)
EFTC Cup - Group competition with a “twist”
EFCT Open - Open to both members and non-member (Filipinos)

The other fame of EFTC are the parties held for its members during
tournament awards nights and on special occasions, which is just about any
reason (occasion) one can think of to party!!!. Members get to enjoy their
leisure hours in the company of friends, thus, helping them in getting over
with being away from their families and relatives.

EFTC actively participates in activities of other tennis clubs in the United
Arab Emirates, participating in tournaments all over the UAE.  EFTC is also
one of the regular benefactors  to the charitable missions of the Philippine
Embassy here in Abu Dhabi (remember Sarah Balabagan??). EFTC also support all the activities/functions held by the Embassy.

EFTC’s vision is to continue to provide its members with quality activities
as part of its service to the Filipino community.

EFTC was established in 1993 by the following pioneers;

	Andro Lat, employed by ADCO and one the best backhand player of the Club. Batangueno, married and gifted with two healthy and makulit kids AJ and Andrea. Division 2, Class "B".
	Greg de Castro, true blooded Ala-Eh (Batangueno). Right handed player. Currently posted in Buhasa (a remote place). Division 3, Class "D"
	Jerry Bustalino, employed by ADCO,  currently not visible among the club members. Division 2, Class "B".
	Ricky dela Cruz, one of the best chairman the club ever had. Intiated EFTC Friendship meet and made succesful tournaments during his term as Chairman of the Club. Lefthanded player, married to Jesilyn (also a club member) and gifted with two kids Angelika and Onyok(Junior) Division 2, Class "C"
	Buddy del Rio, left handed player, married and blessed with three kids. Currently based in Dubai, an excellent graphics designer and artist. He designs and made most of  the Club tournament banners. Division 2, Class "B"

These are the great men of EFTC, from whose efforts, time and sacrifices, EFTC was conceived and became the biggest Filipino Tennis Club in UAE.
