It was an extremely sad occasion as I learnt about the demise of our dear friend and collegue Shakeel Siddiqui. For the short time that we have known Shakeel, we have seen him as a very energetic and lively person with a great sense of humor. Although, many of us are aware of his pleasant social skills and enviable atheletic prowess, Shakeel lived a remarkably active artistic life. The poetry and sketches expressed his sensitivity, created during periods of introspection.

Shakeel enthusiastically participated in sports like football, basketball, swimming and track events. His intellectual pursuits involved him in games like bridge.

But his achievements included a successful career in Investments only overshadowed by his nurturing paternal instincts.

My condolences go out to his wife Atiya, daughters Iman and Ayat, parents, brother and sister.
