Marcel & Friends Rafting Trip Itinerary
The itinerary of our May 27 Th. rafting trip is as follows: (some of the times may change slightly)
7:30 to 8:00 AM - Leave home or Queens for rafting center in Pennsylvania. (Approx. 3 hour drive)
Please, be on time. If you are late, our group will not wait for you.
11:00 - Check in - sign release forms, life jacket fitting, wet suit rental if required, get
Tickets for dinner B-B-Q, trip assignments by color (red, yellow, blue etc.) At this time you also might like to enjoy a snack since we will be stopping about 2:00 PM for lunch.
11:45 - Board buses for trip to river. (By trip color)
12:15 - Trip to river, pick up paddles, go to a raft with your assigned group, brief instruction by Rafting Guide.
12:30-4:45 PM - Actual-rafting trip - (halfway through the trip we will pull ashore for a 1 hour lunch break-on the rocks).
4:45 - 5:15 PM - End of river trip - leave raft, turn in paddles and board buses back to rafting center.
5:15-5:45 PM - Hot shower and change into dry clothes. (Dry clothes should be left in your car)
5:45- 6:30 PM - Enjoy Bar B-B-B, buy souvenirs, or purchase photographs ( 8"xlO" photos of your
Group going through the rapids are displayed and available for sale after the trip).
6:30 PM - Head for home, or play a beach volleyball game( if you still have more energy) or stay and camp for the night.
WE WILL HAVE ABOUT (95) PEOPLE IN OUR IMMEDIATE GROUP. THIS BREAKS DOWN INTO 16 To 18 RAFTS (5 or 6 PEOPLE TO A RAFT). IF YOU DIDN'T REQUEST A SPECIFIC GROUP FOR A FULL RAFT, YOU WILL BE ASSIGNED TO ONE AT THE SITE.
EACH RAFT SHOULD ASSIGN A CAPTAIN. THE CAPTAIN WILL SIT IN THE REAR OF THE RAFT AND WILL BE IN CHARGE. HE OR SHE WILL GIVE ALL THE COMMANDS TO GET YOU THROUGH THE TROUBLE SPOTS OF THE RIVER. HE OR SHE SHOULD BE CHOSEN ON THEIR RAFTING EXPERIENCE OR IF NO EXPERIENCE THEIR TAKE CHARGE ASSERTIVE PERSONALITY (BIGGEST EGO).
YOUR LUNCH WILL BE BROUGHT WITH YOU ON THE TRIP. YOU CAN EITHER BRING IT FROM HOME OR PURCHASE IT AT THE RAFTING CENTER AT TIME OF CHECK-IN. COST $4.50. FOR (turkey sandwich on a Kaiser roll. a brownie, a snack and a beverage) ON THE TRIP THE LUNCHES WILL BE STORED IN A 5 GALLON WATERTIGHT CONTAINER IN EACH RAFT.
IMPORTANT - NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN THE RAFTS OR AT THE RAFTING CENTER.
