MetaStock program (made by Equis

Europe, it may be worth for you to buy it here. Price USD 415.
Finbolsa program. This is a Windows 32 bit program designed
to help investing in stocks, from the perspectives of both technical analysis and

problem for you, because most indicators (PER, Cash-flow, Dividend Yield, etc) are written
in English and the graphics are self-evident.
Price USD 295.

About Portuguese Stock Market
Portuguese stock market had a tremendous development in 1986-1988, culminating with a
terrific boom of about 100% in 1986, 250% in the the first 9 months of 1987 (no I am not
joking!) followed by an horrible crash in October 20, 1987, influenced by Wall Street
crash. Prices droped during the five subsequent years. In 1993, Portugal, like most
European
countries, experienced a recession, and the stock prices reached a minimum. In the same
year, a recovery began and the very low prices were corrected upwards. In 1994 and 1995
the market didn't move significantly (10% up in 1994, 10% down in 1995). In 1996,
following steady GNP growth, the market commenced a rally. 35% gain in 1996, 75% gain in
1997, 50% gain until April 1998, followed by a strong correction until October (in October
the losses were already 40% in relation to the high of April). Till the summer of 1999 the
market recovered somewhat and, form October 1999 onwards, a new rally began, guided by
telecommunications companies (PT, PT Multimedia, Telecel, Sonae, EDP). Good prospects for
the rest of the year 2000.
The main market indexes are the BVL 30 and the PSI 20. The PSI 20 is, since 1997,
included in the Morgan Stanley index package, which makes Portuguese stock exchange cease
to be classified as emerging market. The number of companies with respectable liquidity is
modest: only circa 80. The total turnover is proximattely 300-600 million USD per day. A
futures market is available since 1996.
