Kathleen Gann is the model employee. She comes in late and leaves early, thus avoiding the need to turn on and off electric lights for her own personal gain. By only being in the office when other people are present, she deflects any wrongdoing that was done before or after her shift...absolute brilliance. She also practices (on a regular basis) the Human Resources program known as the "resignation vacation," This program complies with federal regulations about unpaid time off. By simply resigning her position every three weeks, she avoids the undesirable need to process her paycheck for periods when she must be out of the office. She also shares with her mentor, (and whatever else he might be) Scott Hughes', strong desire to deflect blame to systems. However, Kathleen has successfully modified Scott's practices to the following:
1. It's not my fault!
2. Everyone thinks I'm stupid but I'm not!
3. If I cry and quit my job, everyone will know I was always right!
