Signs of the Second Coming of the Savior
Webmaster Note: This outline of the Signs of the Second
Coming of the Savior was prepared by Larry Teets, a Gospel Doctrine Teacher in
Phoenix, Arizona, and an occasional visitor to our ward (The Sedona Ward.) He prepared
this outline for his class for the year 1999.
It is appropriate for this year's class on the Book of Mormon also and ties in well
with the words of Samuel the Lamanite (Helaman 13-16) and also with Third Nephi.

Events that have been completed
The Ancient Church of Jesus
Christ Taken From the Earth.
a. Acts 20:29-30; 2 Peter 2:1-2; 2 Timothy 4:4—false churches were
organized.
b. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3—Paul wrote to the saints in Thessalonica that there had
to be a falling away first before Christ would come.
People of Israel Scattered.
a. Deuteronomy 28:64—"one end of the earth to the other."
b. 1 Nephi 22:3—"scattered upon the face of the earth…among all
nations."
c. D&C 45:19—"scattered among all nations."
The Discovery of Printing and a New Birth of
Learning.

NOTE:
This is not meant to be comprehensive. More scriptures can always be found.
References to Abomination of Desolation can refer to present events (missionary work)
as well as events of the very last days.
There are references to the battle of Gog and Magog taking place both before and after
Christ’s millennial reign.
