As well, if you have problems reading tombstones, especially the older
fieldstones, etc. Mom found a trick on the internet. If you spray a little
shaving cream on the tombstone, then use a squeegee to run across the surface of
the tombstone, if fills in the letters, allowing you to read them. It doesn't
always work well on the white tombstones, since the shaving cream is white, but
it does help. It works exceptionally well on fieldstones. And, the shaving
cream doesn't hurt the tombstones, and washes away with the next rain.
