Social Security Number: 503-34-6286. Death Residence: Dallas City, Hancock County, Illinois 62330
Memorial obituary for Aunt Opal. She died at LaHarpe Hospital on Dec. 6, 1977. Visitation was at the Dallas City Free Methodist Church and arrangements were made by the Banks and Beals Funeral Home of LaHarpe. The body was taken to the Luer Funeral Home in Centralia and funeral services were held Friday, Dec 9th at the Luer Funeral Home. Rev.C. A. McDonald officiated and Rev Richard Lance and Rev. David Jefford assisted. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia. After Uncle Ted died her body was moved to Dallas City where they both were buried, but I don't know the name of the cemetery. Hope this clarifies it. - Evelyn Dillon 2-02
My mother says that Lynn's widow, Eula Mae, contacted Lowell, John and her shortly after Ted's death to see if it would be OK to move Opal's body to Dallas City alongside Ted. They agreed and the move was made from Salem, she believes. from Jim Fyke 2-02
Florence Marie (Greenwalt) Rivers, my sister, and I went to the Dallas City Cemetery on July 16, 2002 to see the graves of Theodore J. Wemette, first wife Opal Estella (Greenwalt) Wemette, and second wife, Dorothy Lamb Wemette. My father, Walter Jennings Greenwalt, was one of Opal's siblings who signed to allow re-interment in the Dallas City Cemetery with Ted. When Dorothy (Ted's second wife), deceased, she was also buried beside Ted in the Dallas City Cemetery. -Walter E. Greenwalt 7-02
