D.E.A.R.1

(Digital Electronics Autonomous Robot 1)

D.E.A.R.1 was my first robot using an HC11. He has a Rug Warior board (not the pro, the older one) which is mounted on balsa wood. The balsa wood raises the board up from the base so that there is room underneath for more circuits, and sensors.

The base was bought from The Robot Store. The base came with two servos, wheels, a BB caster, and even a First Step Micro (still thinking what to use this for).

D.E.A.R.1 is programmed in IC (Interactive C). He was originally going to be my first Fire Fighter, but around November, I decided to build another robot for the contest. That robot was D.E.A.R.2

Here is D.E.A.R.1. From this picture, you can see the balsa extension, the two servos, the Rug Warior board, motor batteries, IR sensor and micro switch mounted in the front, and one of the two photo-cells mouted on the side.
