Here are some short photostories with tugs.

Towage of "Sjællands Rev" lighthouse, 1971.

From 23 june1971 to 25 june 1971 the Svitzer tugs "Bien" and "Bjarke" towed the new concrete lighthouse for "Sjællands Rev" from Aalborg Shipyard to a position off Sjællands Odde. It was a rough trip with a speed of 2-3 knots, and I suffered badly from seasickness.
We towed in tandem, as "Bien" got enginetroubles shortly after leaving Aalborg and we had to call Hals Harbour for repair. When we were ready to connect to the tow, we could not get hold of the heavy wire that ran around the foundation of the lighthouse. That resulted in connecting our towage wire to the bow of "Bjarke".
The quality of the pictures is not the best. I did not have a good camera, the weather was grey and cloudy and the negatives have suffered a lot during the years. But better some low quality pics than none.
A Goliath tug helps us maneuver thru the Limfjord.
Shortly before we leave the Limfjord at Hals.
At open sea.
The same here.

Fishing onboard "Uranus", Øresund 1972.

Often when we were waiting for a ship to arrive at Elsinore Harbour, we had our fishing gear ready.
Engineer Aasberg had caught a fish, while seaman Bager uses the handline.
Master Riis also tries his luck under keen watch from Aasberg.
Aasberg was normally engineer and cook at "Bien", and Riis was the master there. But from time to time the crew assisted onboard the other ships too.

Towage of EAC's Patagonia from the shipyard in Elsinore, 1972.

"Uranus" are turning the bow in the narrow harbour of Elsinore.
The seaman is waiting for the right moment to release the hook.
"Ymer" has released the stern and we turn free off the bow.
Pilotboat "Helsingør" makes ready to pick up the harbourpilot.
Bon voyage!

Come back later, as I have a little more to show.
