Later that day, Jessica wandered downstairs to the kitchen, in hopes of finding food. She heard AJ talking to someone, and did not see the person. At first, she thought he was talking to himself. However, as she walked closer, she noticed one of AJ's band mates sitting at the kitchen counter.
"D, I don't know anymore," AJ said to the visitor while pacing around the kitchen. Howie shook his head.
"Am I interrupting anything?" Jessica asked softly, leaning against the doorframe.
"Jess!" Aj jumped.
"Yes, that is me," Jessica said, raising her eyebrow.
AJ looked from Howie to Jessica several times. Jessica finally rolled her eyes, "I get the hint, man. I'll leave in a sec, lemme get some food."
"Thanks," AJ said, smiling sadly at her. "I'm sorry..."
"It's ok, dude. I'll just go take that bath I've been dying to take for three weeks," she smiled dreamily as she grabbed an apple from the fridge. As she walked out of the room, she failed to notice the quick look of lust that came briefly over AJ's face.
When she was safely out of hearing distance, AJ turned back to Howie. "See what I mean, man? She's gorgeous," AJ grunted, sitting down on one of the chairs.
"You've got me there, Bone," Howie said, shrugging his shoulders.
"Appropriate choice of words," AJ muttered, attempting to shake himself out of the vision he held in his mind.
Upstairs:
Jessica pulled a well-worn book out of her backpack and walked into the bathroom. Quickly, she stripped down, sinking into the warm strawberry-scented water. She closed her eyes and let out a long sigh of delight. After a few minutes, she opened her eyes and picked up her beloved book - The Vampire Armand by Anne Rice. She had read the entire Chronicles already (Rather, everything written up to that point), but loved rereading Armand.. Probably because Armand was her favorite vampire, other than Khayman.
Downstairs:
"Howie, I don't know what to do. I'd give anything for her to love me, but it would just be wrong. Can you imagine what would happen if word got out I was dating a 16- year- old?" AJ sighed, looking up at Howie.
"I wish I could tell you something that would solve everything, AJ, but I'm not that good," Howie sighed, moving to sit next to AJ. "But, don't let the press bother you. I do not know if what you are expieriencing is true love or infatuation, but either way, let your heart decide." AJ nodded.
