Chapter
2
The
next morning:
I woke
up with the sun. Pulling my sore, tired body out of the uncomfortable
bed, I walked to the dinky shower and took a quick, somewhat warm,
shower. I got dressed in some of my cleaner clothes-old jeans
and a good 3/4 sleeve shirt- and went downstairs to see what Daniel
left for me in the kitchen. Just my luck. Nothing except moldy
bologna, which I hate with a passion even without the mold. I
sighed and decided to go to the mall without eating- not like
I had a choice or anything! Daniel had taken the old Chevy (another
thing I hated), so I had to walk everywhere. I was about to change
my mind about going to the mall, until I realized that I had to
get out of the house, if not going to the mall, then something,
before I go crazy.
So
I walked for a while until I came to a small, shady park. The
grass was green, the flowers were blooming (after all, it IS early
spring! :), little kids were playing on the playground. I smiled
at the sights and sat at an empty picnic table. I watched the
kids for a while, longing to go over and play with them. Can I
help it I love kids? :) I placed a hand over my three month pregnant
stomach. I wasn't showing at all. I knew all this stuuf- not eating,
cold rooms, etc, could not be good for the baby. I didn't know
exactly what to do, becuase I hadn't been to a doctor since Daniel
and I moved out here.
Ten
minutes later, I got up and decided to continue on my way. I walked
out of the peaceful park onto the sidewalk. I passed by some small,
but cozy-looking, houses until I came upon a peculiar sight. There,
in the middle of the road, lay a small dog. I didn't know if it
was injured, or what, but I had to get it out of the middle of
the road. As I got closer, I realized it was just a lazy, dumb,
Chihuahua puppy. I smiled slightly and picked up the sleeping
dog.
"Aren't
you cute?" I murmured to it. I looked at the tag. "'Lil
Tyk," I read aloud. "Owned by Brian Littrell. 4534 Sunny
Dr, Orlando, FL." my eyes widened as I read this. "Holy
shit!" I said. "This dog came all the way from Florida?"
I shrugged and started walking back to the side of the road. I
placed the dog on the sidewalk as a car came roaring by, right
over the spot 'lil tyk' had just been. Suddenly I heard running
footsteps behind me. I stopped walking and turned around to see
a short guy with curly red hair bending over the dog and talking
to it.
"Thank
you so much, Miss!" the guy said. "You jsut saved my
dog's life! What can I do to repay you?" the guy, I'm assuming
Brian, asked happily. I shrugged.
"It
was nothing, seriously." I said and walked off.
"WAIT!"
he cried. I sighed helplessly and turned to face him. "Would
you like to come in and have coffee or something?" I knew
my eyes lit up at this, because the cute grin on his face got
even wider. He ran over and grabbed my hand, pulling me towards
a moderate-sized grey house. I giggled slightly. He opened the
door and pulled me inside, calling out, "GUYS!!!!" (Don't
worry, Tyk followed us in!) Four half-asleep guys came down the
stairs one-by-one.
"What
do you want, Frick?" a tall blonde one snapped.
"You
guys hungry?" Brian (frick???) replied cheerfully. The four
guys shrugged. "I hope so, cuz I'm making breakfast."
The guys immediately cheered up at the thought of home-cooked
food. Men, I thought.
