Chapter

I
leaned back against the bathroom door, sighing. I felt salty ters
hot in my eyes. I fit in with these guys so perfectly, yet I shouldn't
even be near them. I splahsed cold water on my face and walked
back to the kitchen. I noticed a tall blonde standing over Brian,
playing with his hair. I smiled and walked back to the table,
sliding sadly into my chair.
I wanna go home! I want Daniel! I thought. I want my mommy.
The blonde girl looked over at me skeptically. "Who the hell
is she?" she asked, motioning to me, a look of...something
I ccouln't read, probably disgust, written across her face.
"That
is Katarina. She saved Tyk's life, so I invited her to breakfast
with us," Brian replied.
"Just
because she saved a stupid dog?" blondie asked rudely. Brian's
eyes darkened at that comment. Ok, he really loves his dog, I thought,
smiling at the cuteness in my head.
"YES,
just because she saved my dog. That and she looked really lonely,"
brian said pointedly, looking at me. I turned away, tears threatening
to spill down my cheeks. I stood up to leave.
"Look,
I'll just leave now, OK?" I asked, looking at the girl, who
smiled. All the guys looked really sad though.
"No,
Kat, don't go!" AJ exclaimed.
"Oh,
so she has a hold over AJ too?" Blondie asked snidely.
"Shut
the fuck up, Leigh Anne," Nick growled. Everyone looked sharply
at Nick, who just sat there sheepishly, yet glaring at Leigh Anne.
I smiled at Nick, who smiled back.
"Look,
I don't wanna cause a fight between anyone, so I'm just gonna
walk home, k?" I asked, looking at Brian with sad eyes. He
sighed.
"Kat,
you don't have to go!" he said quietly. I shook my head and
started to walk out the door.
"WAIT
KAT!" Howie cried, running after me. I turned around and
smiled sadly. He could see the tears forming in my eyes, and hugged
me. The first real friends I make here, and I'm leaving them two
hours after we meet. Sad. "Kat, I want you to still come
to our rehearsal. Leigh Anne is just a bitch. Just igmore her.
Please come see us, it would mean so much!" I smiled at the
pleading man.
"That
depends, Howie. Where is it?" I asked, thinking of how far
it would be to walk.
"It's
actually at the old Studio Two dance studio. Do you know where
that is?" he asked.
Sighing
with relief, I said, "Yea, it's only ten minutes from my
house."
"OK,
great! See you around two?" he asked. I nodded, smiling.
"Ok, bye!"
"Bye
Howie. Tell the other guys I said bye, and that i'll see them
later. Oh, and tell Brian to keep Tyk inside!" I smiled.
Howie laughed and kissed me on the cheek.
"See
ya, Kat." I waved and walked out of the house and slowly
back to my house.
