"Nick, I am so sorry to do this to you. But I just can't handle my life anymore. You are still my best friend, and I don't really want to lose you- but I must. I'm going to miss you so much! Love ya lots, Jenny." she reads aloud, a tear falling onto the note. Gently she puts the note on his bed, knowing he will see it. She walks slowly out of his house, and down to the beach. There she stands, pondering over what she's about to do. "Good bye, all." she whispers, than runs out into the surf to drown herself...... Swiftly, I fly down, and grab her. Already she is unconscious, so I bring her to the beach and gently lay her down on the warm sand. I start to sing to her softly, waiting for this Nick to arrive. A tall blonde comes running out on the beach. I stop my singing. He sees her, and runs over to her limp body and starts to sob, probably thinking I am there to take her away. I silently stand up, and put my arms around him.
"Do not be afraid- I am here to save her. She will wake very soon. I warn you never try to take advantage of your friendship- she needs you as a friend, not a lover. If you keep trying, as will she- she is very fragile, and cannot handle all of the stress of a relationship at the moment, and just needs a close friend. So please, be careful. She is a rare gem- a wonderful friend to have. I'd hate to see you lose her, and I hate to see anyone, do this to themselves." With that, I swiftly vanish. He lifts up her head, and cries out her name. Her eyelids gently flutter open, and she looks up at Nick.
"But, I thought...." she says softly, sitting up. He puts his finger on his lips.
"Shh. An angel came to help you," he whispered. She nods and they both get up, and walk off together. that just happened 3 days ago. Nick is also best friends with the Brian I'm listening to now. My eyes water thinking of Jenny, and what Jess might do.
"Oh, Jesse." he sighs sadly. "Please don't do this to yourself. I don't want you to end up like Jenny. Sure, Nicky says an angel saved her, but how do I know that she'll help you? I just can't risk losing you!"
"Oh Brian.." I whisper, very inaudibly, "I do anything to help hurting mortals..."
The words he says to her bring up yet another flashback of yet another mortal whose relationship I saved...
