Howie stared at the ground, sighing softly. It was that time of the week again: fanmail. He watched as all the other Boys' piles grew and grew, while his stayed the same. Nothing. Not now; not ever. He hung his head in dissapointment. Everyday it happened this way.

"Hey, D, you got one!" AJ smiled, handing a package to Howie. Howie's eyes widened in surprise. Skeptically, he eyed the package, checking it for his mother's handwriting. He stared down at it in shock as the other Boys ripped their envelopes open.

Gingerly he picked it up, almost scared. He opened it to find a letter with the handwriting of a teen. He noticed the tear drops on the page as he began to read.

Dearest Howie,

I'm sure you'll never get this, let alone read it, but I had to tell you this. I know you don't care, but, I shall try. (There I go with my pessimissim.) Your music... the group's... has changed my life so much.. you have helped me through my toughest times, and I thank you for that. But, what helped me get through the day today was one song: "What Makes You Different". I fear that without hearing these sweet lyrics, the hopeful message, your beautiful voice, and without seeing your gorgeous face, I would not be sitting here writing this.

With just that one song, you turned my life around, and gave me hope. I can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate it.

All my love,

-AfterGlow-

Howie stared down, feeling tears form in his eyes. He looked at the rest of the package, it was a packet of songs she had written. As he read through them, AJ picked up the letter and read it.

"That is so sweet," he murmured softly. "D, did you see the postscript?" Howie shook his head and took the letter from AJ.

Ps: Howie, always remember one thing - qué le hace diferente, le hace hermoso.

Howie felt a tear slide down his cheek as he read the words.
