Everyone thought she was a freak. But no one knew what was really her "problem". Her name is Jessica Marie. No one knows why she is always alone and if she is around people, why she can be so argumentive. She used to be friends with everyone, but that all changed.
January, 1990-
Jessica sat at the kitchen table, picking at her breakfast of cold cereal. The eight year old didn't remember the taste of real food, just the cheap stuff that they could afford if they wanted to keep the house. Ever since her mother kicked her dad out of the house a few months earlier, her and her mother weren't very well off. Her mother, Jana, had just gotten a new job to try and help support the small family theirs was. Jana had left not 10 minutes earlier when Jessica felt a cold breeze in the house. This wind chilled her to the bones, and scared her. She didn't know what happened, because when she got up to check the thermostat, the temperature of the house was around 65. It felt like 35 in there. She shivered and ran out the door, hopeing she wouldn't be late for school.
Little did she know the meaning behind that chill- it was more than just something wrong with the thermostat. This was when the whole thing started.
