Plot Overview
This is the sixty-second summary of the game's plot so that you don't get confused.
This RPG is set in the third age of a world called Ahara'lin. After seeming to disappear for a whole age, the gods have returned, and appear freely among the wolves of the land. Some wolves are even discovering they have powers of magic, and struggling to learn how to master these powers.
Currently there are two packs. The Rising Falls Pack is lead by Soothsayer Tari, who predicted the coming of the gods. The second pack has recently been taken over by Arx, after the old alpha Vespertilio fled at the coming of the gods.
Soothsayer Tari, however, did not only predict the coming of the gods - that was only a smaller part of a large prophecy. She predicted a fourth age, one of prosperity, and a fifth age, which will be an age of discord. The Forsaken Age (sixth age) will follow that, when the gods will appear no more.
But though these seem like dangerous warnings, it is her prediction of the last age that is the most terrifying - the Age of Destruction, which "shall be the end of all things." No one knows the exact time it will come, but they know that every day brings them closer to the end...
Three Rules I Care About Too Much (Hence The Long Ranting On Them)
-MAKE PLOTS OR DIE. I want some seriously insane conflicts breaking out, people hating each others’ guts, falling in love, committing suicide, becoming spies - whatever the crap you can come up with.
-No IC conflicts go OOC. This seems so ridiculous I don’t know why I’m saying it, but it happens frequently enough I have to. Please don’t chew out someone OOC because their character called your character an idiot. It’s your CHARACTER’S job to chew people out.
-All levels of roleplaying are allowed - whether you’re a hopeless newbie who’s already confused or a jaded ol’ advanced player. However, I trust you guys are going to put some effort into your posts - look at some of the longer posts on the site to get an idea of what we like. Describe your character’s thoughts, the scenery, their smallest motions - we can do much better than one-liners here.
Basic Common Sense
-Only wolves can join.
-No long-breeding, powerplay, or god-moding. If you don’t know what these are (I know sometimes the definition varies from site to site), please ask when you join.
-Swear all you want IC, but swearing excessively OOC makes me whip people. Whips are fun ^_^
-If the entire game is based around a soothsayer’s prophecy and gods running all over the place, do you THINK magic’s going to be allowed?! Yes! ...Please discuss it with me on the OOC board, and we'll see if your character can have some magic, mkay?
-Dead is dead. No ghosts ‘n’ shizzle.
-MOST of the time, characters cannot be killed without your consent. However, you should brace yourself for the possibility - keep in mind a lot of the stuff in this game is based on random and senseless wars and/or natural disasters, and to keep it threatening, people have to die. (But I'll kill volunteers first.) Oh, and when we hit the seventh age (destruction), about 95% of the characters on the site have to die. So be ready for that.
Packs
-If you’re not a member of a pack and you step in their territory, your character can be killed. This is why when you enter a pack, it is extremely important to mention that your character stops outside the borders of the territory and waits to talk to the alpha.
-If you’ve never been to a wolf RPG, the standard acceptance process goes like this - you stop outside the borders of the pack territory and wait for the alpha (head of the pack) to arrive. Once they show up, you are to submit (usually by rolling over onto your back, exposing your throat, tucking your tail between your legs, whining, and so on), and either they’ll tell you to go away or accept you as a new pack member.
-Generally, only alphas are allowed to accept new members into a pack. However, the alpha may give other members of their pack permission to accept newcomers. (For example, the alpha could give betas permission to accept new members, so then alphas and betas would accept newcomers.) This is so that the alpha doesn't HAVE to accept EVERY new member - it gets tiring after a while!
FAQs
What age are we currently in?
We are currently in the third age. For future reference, the current age will ALWAYS be posted in big, bold letters on the main page above the updates.
Can my wolf have magic?
Please ask on the "magic requests" board. Generally, magic will only be given out to advance the plot somehow, since we want to keep it special. Almost everyone who wants magic will gain it in the third age, but as time wears on fewer and fewer people will get magic.
Humans-
No. This game is set in a fantasy universe where there never have been or are any humans, so please don't stick them in your wolf's past or ask to play one, mkay?
