A Library Assistant with the Calgary Public Library since 1992; Wanda Martin has taught computer and business directories courses, worked on various parts of the CPL web page, and helped people find other people and/or company information. In other lifetimes she's been an accounts payable clerk, a teacher's assistant, a retail clerk (very briefly), and a yogurt cone server (extremely briefly). Since 1997, she has volunteered with the Calgary Community Network Association where she maintains the Calgary Community, Major Calgary Companies, Calgary Non-Profit Organizations, and Calgary Music pages. In the past she has volunteered with the Calgary Eco-Centre, the International Blues Festival, Calgary's Canada Day festivities, Afrikadey, and the International Hot Air Balloon Races (in 1987, during the Winter Olympics). She has written short stories, poetry, songs and numerous how-to manuals, is an avid music lover, an amateur musician, a read-aholic, a movie buff and a homegrown Calgarian. Ever curious, she has studied journalism, library technology, environmental science, computers, dance, yoga, religion, and music. She is currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Professional Arts Communication Studies program at Athabasca University. She shares space with her cat in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. |
