The Wantagh FD was alerted to a working car fire in the parking lot of the Lighthouse Diner on Sunrise Highway at approximately 3:05 am on April 13, 2000.  In charge of fire operations was Chief John Loeber who directed the crew from engine 698 in extinguishing the fire.  The car fire was in a late model Acura who’s owner could not be located.  No injuries were reported and the fire was quickly extinguished.  Nassau County Police units 717, 734 & 737 were at the scene.
