At approximately 3:20 am a 1999 GMC SUV with six occupants, all from Bellmore, became airborne as it traveled at a high rate of speed south on Bellmore Avenue, mounted two cars parked in the driveway of 2737 Bellmore Avenue struck a tree and a third car at 2743 Bellmore Avenue and embedded itself nose first in the ground with it rear wheels wedged in the second floor window of the house at 2743 Bellmore Avenue.



Good Rope Job!

According to Nassau County Police Detective Brian Dunker of the 7th Squad, the 1999 four door GMC Yukon Denali was driven by 19 year old Dean Salvani of Bellmore.  The car's other occupants all from Bellmore were Christopher McCoo, 19, Louis Apa, 19, Peter Buckheit, 18, Douglas Scibelli, 19 and Richard Gary, 19.

Three of the car's occupants Dean Salvani, Douglas Scibelli and Richard Gary who were ejected from the car are hospitalized with serious injuries.  The other occupants were treated and released.

Nassau County Police Ambulances, Emergency Service Bureau staff and equipment and fire department units from Bellmore, North Bellmore, North Merrick and Wantagh were at the scene of the accident.  Bellmore Fire Chief Robert Frazer was in charge of fire units at the scene.
