Cat Colony Care - Animal Abuse

Part of caring for a colony, or simply being a caring human, involves reporting abuse to animals and using the power of your vote to punish those who abuse animals. Studies have shown a relationship between violence toward animals and violence toward people. It is up to all of us to prevent abuse and report those who break the law.

By law, people in the District of Columbia, as in some other jurisdictions, need to provide their animals with proper food, fresh water, shelter from the elements, adequate and clean space, and veterinary care when needed. If you know of an animal who is being denied these things or is being abused, please call your local Humane Society and Police.

... animals possess a soul and men must love and feel solidarity with our smaller brethren...animals are fruit of the creative action of the Holy Spirit and merit respect...animals are as near to God as men are.
