From the corner of your eye you thought you saw movement. As you turn to look
there's nothing but shadows. Dismissing it as nothing more than your imagination
you turn to leave. A child's laughter erupts from the shadows forcing your attention
once more. This time as you stare a beautiful young girl steps out of the darkness.
She appears to be about 12 years old, but there's something strange about her.
Her skin is pale as if never having seen the sun. She's made all the paler as her
hair which is raven black cascades down to her waist forming a stark contrast to
her skin. Her eyes which are also black seem to reflect the stars in the night sky.
Her infectious laughter catches you off guard as her eyes stare into your soul.
cocking her head to one side she studies you carefully.
"I wonder. Are you a child of light? Do you only believe what you can see? Do you
enjoy the suns rays only to sleep by the moon? Or, are you someone special? Do you
thrive in the darkness? Are you someone who willingly defends the helpless and sleeping
against threats they'll never see?
Suddenly, as if spotting something important she turns her head. "Lexie!!" She
screams as she runs into the shadows. As she turns to leave you notice her hair.
and could swear you saw the constellations within it.
