Steve's birthday (it's not polite to ask which one)

Steve is a man of few wants, so it was hard to come up with birthday gifts for the man.  Catherine was the first to be determined to find something special for her father, despite having the smallest allowance of the three children.  She scored with a pot of lavender mums she knew Dad would love.  Lewis chose a pair of new fish for Dad's office tank that made fast friends with the other fish (though he really wanted to get the miniature sharks, but figured that Dad wouldn't be thrilled when he had nothing left in his tank except for two really stuffed-looking sharks).  Patrick bought Dad an AC/DC Live CD.  Dad also got a new leather volleyball, tools, and a new stockpot with (oh, joy!) a pasta insert.

Steve got a layered tiramisu cake which was promptly polished off in two days.
