Journey for Margaret

Set during the London Blitz in 1941, the movie vividly portrays the terrible effects of war on children. Margaret O'Brien plays an orphan befriended by a visiting American (Robert Jones) and his wife. The couple plan to adopt O'Brien and her friend, and take them to safety in America. However as the film unfolds, this turns out to be a more difficult task than it first appeared to be.
