Information from Rene Kappers (genealogist in Holland) and fierce research done by Mrs.Vulsma-Kappers-a well-known and respected genealogist, with note that this information is
"only circumstantial evidence and lack of scientific proof", that Jan was a son of Bernardus Kappers, baptised Aalten 3 feb 1760, today province Gelderland, in those days the Duchy of Gelre, died Vlissingen 15 feb 1804, and Cornelia Huijbregtse (1757-1825).
