1st Bn. Regular. 04 Aug 1914 at Warley, London District. Joined the 20th Brigade, 7th Division in Sep 1914. 2nd Bn. Regular. 04 Aug 1914 at Chelsea in the 4th (Guards) Brigade, 2nd Division. 3rd Bn. Regular. 04 Aug 1914 Wellington Barracks, London District. Landed in France in Jul 1915 and joined the 2nd (Guards) Brigade, Guards Division. 4th Bn. Formed at Marlow in Jul 1915. Landed in France and joined the 3rd (Guards) Brigade, Guards Division. 5th (Reserve) Bn. Formed at Kensignton in Aug 1914, originally as the 4th (Reserve) Bn. Became the 5th Bn when the 4th Bn was formed. Stayed in the UK and supplied drafts to the four Battalions overseas. 1st Provisional Bn. Formed at Aldershot on 07 Aug 1918 for duty at the Senior Officers School.
