This German soldier is using the issue compass to get his bearings
on the terrain. He has a camoflauged M40 helmet with breadbag strap
to attached foilage to. He has the privately purchase trench knife(or
boot knife) clipped to his tunic. Notice the M24 stick grenade sticking
out of his belt. He is armed with a ppsh41. Examples of this
weapon being used on the Western and Eastern Front have been documented.
