Dreama

Went to the Rainbow bridge June 19,2000. This picture was taken not five minutes before she left us.

Dear Listers....

After reading a number of "When is it enough" and after serious soul searching, I asked Edith to delete any further messages on that topic.

I came to believe not one of us dog lovers would feel the same deep emotion at losing any pet, or show dog. Our feelings might differ from one dog to another. I know this was the case with Dreama. There was "something" special about her that became buried deeply in our heart. I'm sure we would all grieve over losing any of our dogs; they bring more into our lives than we realise until they receive the call from across the Rainbow Bridge. Likely her sister Tuffy, who was so much like Dreama.

Some of the letters mentioned "cost of treating a dog". I really don't think any of us would not hesitate to treat one of our dogs, regardless of one's financial state.

For example, Tuffy became ill almost overnight. She had excessive bleeding. Xrays were taken, the vet said she had possible cancer of the bladder. It could be confirmed by a biopsy. I asked and was told it would not change her condition. A decision was made not to put her through the tests. The next morning at 3 am she looked up, licked my face and gasped. She died in my arms, I had been at her side through the very long night. Tuffy was cremated as was Dreama. We received Dreama's ashes this past Friday, July 28th.

To those facing this heartache I say, if you have done all humanly posible to make a loved dog happy and comfortable, let it cross the Rainbow Bridge. The heart decides, not money.

Our thanks again to so many who helped us through our loss. Two more letters came today. Tears still fall.

God Bless you all.

Life does go on, on June 4th we were blessed with 7 healthy pups
